April, 2024 Monthly Meeting – “The Fire Behavior Triangle”

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Please join us for the April, 2024 monthly meeting to hear from Wesley Sketo, Engagement Director of the NC Forest Service speaking about the “The Fire Behavior Triangle: How native species have great influence on THE ONLY SIDE we can do anything about”.

Join staff from the NC Forest Service to discuss how native plants can play a significant role in your home’s ability to survive a wildfire.  We’ll cover desirable species of trees, shrubs and groundcover and also what should be avoided.  Factors such as proximity to the home, spacing between individuals, choices in mulch materials and best practices for pruning / maintenance will all play a role in reducing the wildfire risk on your property.

Our monthly meeting will be held on April10th at the Holiday Inn Express, 1943 Blowing Rock Road in Boone. The meeting room will open at 6:30 and we’ll start the meeting at 7:00.

The event is finished.
