We are the Uwharrie Chapter, established in February 2025 and serving of Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Anson, Stanly counties and southern Rowan. Davidson and Randolph counties. The Uwharrie region has unique soil types and geology that results in unique plant communities. Bringing attention to the native flora of this region through our chapter activities will educate citizens to the biological significance of this region and help to conserve its biodiversity.
We will hold quarterly meetings on the 2nd Tuesday beginning with April 2025, then July, October, and January 2026 at the Stanly Count Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle at 6:30 PM. In the months in between we will schedule botanizing hikes, garden tours and plant/seed swaps.
Membership to the North Carolina Native Plant Society is not a requirement to attend the Uwharrie Chapter meetings or events. There are no membership dues but we recommend you join the NC Native Plants Society.
