Copy of December 9 , 2025 Meeting/ Holiday Party and Native Plant Seed Swap

Please join us Wednesday, January 14, 2026 for our monthly meeting/annual holiday potluck dinner and seed swap. (Winter weather prevented us from having our potluck and seed swap in December).  Bring a covered dish and enjoy a meal among friends.  bring native plant seeds, a related book or other item to exchange.  If you don’t have anything to bring for exchange – no worries – join us and take home seeds to plant!  We will also have a speaker at this meeting.  Carrie Caviness, PhD PE, will discuss challenges and opportunities for restoring native plant assemblages at a variety of public recreation projects including trailheads, greenways, and river access sites. The presentation will focus on restoration within the context of sites with invasive species pressure and limited opportunities for management following design and construction

• Indoor meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from September-April.  **note** We follow the Watauga County School Weather Policy.  If Watauga County Schools are canceled on the meeting day, the meeting will also be canceled.

• Doors open at 6:00PM for the potluck.  Since we are having a speaker, along with the potluck and seed swap, we are starting a little earlier than usual.  The presentation will begin at 7:00PM.
