Description: Join Native Landscaping Professional John Dwyer and the Blue Ridge Chapter for another easy stroll on the paths and trails at the Northwest NC Visitor Center, A NC DOT (Department of Transportation) sustainable rest area that is landscaped completely with native plants!  Highlights will include spectacular displays of fall color on trees, shrubs and grasses, as well as eye-catching seedheads and some of the last wildflowers of the year. Total distance is ~1 mile and is expected to take 1.5 hours.  We will be walking on paved and natural surfaces and the walking will be easy. It is a short walk to the facilities at any time.  Be prepared to see a huge diversity of native trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers!  We will meet in front of the restrooms and begin the walk at 9:30 am.
