- Join Grandfather Mountain State Park Ranger Galina on a hike through Bear Paw State Natural Area to identify various late summer flowering species and early fall plant species. Some possible late summer flowers might be asters, goldenrod, and maybe some coneflowers. This hike is open to all ID experience levels and our intent is to learn/teach participants how to ID some common species found during this time of year. Please make sure to wear appropriate hiking attire, including close-toed boots and bring water, snacks, and hiking poles if you like hiking with them. Feel free to bring a notebook and pencil, along with any ID books you like to use.
- 1.5 miles out and back, moderate hike.
