Blue Ridge Chapter meeting at NW NC Visitor Center

Join Native Landscaping Professional John Dwyer and the Blue Ridge Chapter for an easy stroll on the paths and trails at the Northwest NC Visitor Center, A NC DOT (Department of Transportation) sustainable rest area that is landscaped completely with native plants!  We will walk through meadows filled with native grasses and wildflowers, around a bioretention basin that mimics a natural wetland, and through the woodland that surrounds the visitor center.

Total distance is ~1 mile and is expected to take 1 hour.  We will be
walking on paved and natural surfaces and the walking will be easy.
We will be in the sun so a hat and water are recommended, although it
is a short walk to the facilities at any time.  Be prepared to see a
huge diversity of native trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers!  We
will meet in front of the restrooms and begin the walk at 9:30 am.
