Mark Your Calendars now for the Great Smoky Mountains Spring Hike 2022. The annual NCNPS Spring Outing for 2022 is April 29, 30, and May 1 on the North Carolina portion of the Great Smoky Mountains. Please join us for some remarkable botanizing in these ancient mountains. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a world-renowned preserve of wildflower diversity—over 1,500 kinds of flowering plants are found in the park, more than in any other North American national park. Although a final agenda is still being developed, limited information about the Outing appears below.

Hikes –A choice of hikes will be offered in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and in the Nantahala National Forest.

Silent Plant Auction –We hope to continue our legacy of plant auctions. Donations of unusual and hard to find plants are requested. Proceeds will support NCNPS operations.

Lodging – We are currently negotiating a group rate with a hotel in Bryson City. The Bryson City Chamber of Commerce lists other accommodations under “Where to Stay.”  Lodging.  Spring Outing participants are responsible for making their own reservations.

Meals -Spring Outing participants are responsible for obtaining their own meals.

Details on the entire Spring Outing will be announced once they are finalized on our Events page.  Questions can be directed to Diane Laslie or Paula LaPoint. We look forward to seeing you there!
