What’s in a Name: Understanding Species, Cultivars & Hybrids

Print Friendly, PDF & Email
An important aspect when selecting native plants for your garden is to understand what specific plant you are looking for.  Common names can gives us an easy way to begin learning but, Botanical names ensure we correctly identify plants we cultivate or see while hiking.

Join us on Wednesday September 6th at 6:30 pm at Kathleen Clay Edwards Library to learn about botanical names and more.  If you feel overwhelmed with learning botanical names and don’t know where to start this is for you!  Cultivars and Hybrids will also be covered so, next time you are looking for new natives for your garden you can have a better understanding of what they are and how to tell the difference.

Adam Webb is the co-chair of the Triad Chapter and has been a member of the NCNPS since 2016.  He currently works at Frank’s Perennial Border in Winston-Salem.

We will be meeting at Kathleen Clay Edwards Library Meeting Room (1420 Price Park Dr., Greensboro, NC 27410).  This meeting will be in person only but, a recorded copy will be added to our YouTube channel.

This program is free and open to the public, all are welcome!
