Walking Tour of Charlotte’s Treasure Trees

Treasure tree hunter, Brett Dupree, will take you through the Myers Park neighborhood to see some of Charlotte’s Treasure Trees. This five-mile loop walking tour will include WingHaven, where two of Charlotte’s original Treasure Trees are located. We will see a mix of native trees and exotic trees that have been included in home landscapes over the years including:

Crimean Linden (Tilia x euchlora)
Gingko (Ginkgo biloba)
Waxleaf Privet (Ligustrum lucidum)
Deodar Cedar (Cedrus deodara)
Japanese Zelkova (Zelkova serrata)
Pecan (Carya illinoinensis)
Chaste Tree (Vitex agnus-castus)
Japanese Stewartia (Stewartia pseudocamellia)

Note: The WingHaven part of the tour is $10 (free for Wing Haven members), and any form of payment is accepted onsite.

This hike is for NCNPS members only. Walks will be limited in size. Pets are not allowed.

Hikes will only proceed with 5 or more participants registered by 5 PM, 2 days prior to the hike.
