Tour of Native Pollinator Garden at San-Lee Park, Sanford NC

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Morgan Koble, garden creator and currently the primary volunteer garden curator, will show us the native pollinator garden.  This garden was created in the spring of 2022 to promote the value and beauty of North Carolina’s native pollinator plants. The pollinator garden sits on the footprint of the previous nature center, in a space that was unused and left open since the construction of the new Nature Center in a different location within San-Lee Recreation and Educational Park, a county park under Lee County Parks and Recreation.

The garden was recently given a Native Plant Habitat certification through the North Carolina Native Plant Society. Plants currently in the garden were chosen to provide variety in bloom times, color, and pollinator benefit.

Time and weather permitting, we will also hike the rich wooded slopes around one of the park’s lakes and take a look at the new nature center.

Register here.
Open to all, group size cap of 18.
