Tour of Historic Moorefields House and Grounds (Hillsborough)

Moorefields is a 1785 house on the National Register of Historic Places, set in 70 acres of gardens, trails, woodlands and pastures, near Hillsborough. Cecily Nisbet, director of the Friends of Moorefields and Laura Cotterman, board member and author of Wildflowers of the Atlantic Southeast, will show us around the house and grounds.  The property is protected by conservation easements and Moorefields is currently working on a management plan to convert some of the pastures to native grass meadows and enhance wildlife value. (The property is adjacent to Seven Mile Creek Natural Area)

Registration is required, cap of 30.  NCNPS members have priority through April 24.  Moorefields is offering this tour for free – Donations are welcome to support their work.)
