Spring Ephemerals at San-Lee Park, Pumping Station Rd, Sanford
We’ll take a look at the pollinator garden created in the spring of 2022, partially funded by an NCNPS grant and certified as a Native Plant Habitat. It will likely be dormant during our tour, but it includes native plants chosen to provide variety in bloom times, color, and pollinator benefit.
From there we will hike along the rich wooded slopes around one of the park’s lakes, looking for spring ephemerals (hoping the hepaticas will still be blooming). If we have time we can take a look at the new nature center.
Registration required, cap of 18. NCNPS members have priority until March 8.
