Prairie Ridge Ecostation Field Trip
Brian Hahn, Natural Resources Manager, with 14 years experience at Prairie Ridge Ecostation, will lead our tour of this Piedmont prairie habitat created on a former fescue pasture by the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Brian has been closely involved with the development and management of the prairie areas as well as the other habitats on the site.
Prairie Ridge Ecostation, located in west Raleigh near Reedy Creek Rd, is a hub for the Museum’s nature education programs and citizen science projects. It boasts a green Outdoor Classroom, a native plant garden and native tree arboretum, a series of ponds and vernal pools, and a trail system winding through the prairie and forest. The Nature PlaySpace for young children has become a safe, popular space for nature-based play.
Tour will be limited to 15 people. Register here to attend.
