Fern to be “re-homed” at the beautiful Edward Baker Preserve
We will once again rescue some ferns with a rehoming project at the Edward Baker Preserve, a Highlands Cashiers Land Trust property that is open to the public just north of Cashiers. Instead of a Christmas tree farm (where shade-loving ferns have flourished) there will soon be a sunny mountain prairie much needed by our native butterflies and other pollinators that people enjoy.
Jessica Blackburn of the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust will once again welcome our help with the VERY POPULAR fern rehoming project that we did in October. Volunteers will identify and pot native ferns that would not survive without shade.

WHERE: Edward Baker Preserve, Kettle Creek Rd, Cashiers, NC.
Edward Baker Preserve is a 60 acre preserve located just minutes from Cashiers NC. The preserve features around 3 miles of trails with varying difficulty that take you through multiple different ecosystem types. Parking is available on site via gravel parking pad.
