Kids In Nature Day with Charlotte Wildlife Stewards

NCNPS is volunteering at Kids In Nature Day with Charlotte Wildlife Stewards to give out native seedlings to kids at the event! The main plant we will be handing out is Cardinal Flower (lobelia cardinalis), letting folks know how important they are to ruby-throated hummingbirds. If you’d like to learn more about that relationship for yourself, check out this article from Audubon NC. If you can’t volunteer but you still want to bring the family, come grab a seedling and say hey!

Time slots: 1-3pm & 3-5pm

The event opens to the public at 2p, but we will start setting up at 1p.

We will provide all the supplies needed for this event, including brochures and other handouts that people can take home with them. We only ask that you bring water for yourself, a folding chair, and a desire to get kids excited about native plants!
