Explore Hepatica and Early Wildflowers on a Walk and Picnic at the Oconee Station Historical Site Waterfall
You are invited to join friends and members of the Oconee Bell Chapter for a delightful day in nature!. We’ll embark on an easy 1.7-mile round trip hike to discover the beautiful Hepatica (Hepatica acutiloba) and other early wildflowers. We’ll enjoy a picnic at the picturesque Station Cove Falls.
WHEN: March 7, Friday, 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM
WHERE: Meet at Oconee Station Historical Site (by the historic buildings/bathrooms).
WHAT TO BRING: Sack lunch, Water, Hiking poles, dress in layers for cool weather
At the end of the trail is a beautiful 60 foot waterfall. On the way home consider stopping at Devils Fork State Park nearby in South Carolina to see the blooming Oconee Bells on the Oconee Bell Nature Trail.
