Haw River Private Preserve Tour & Demo of Method to Kill Invasive Ailanthus

Learn how to control invasive Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus) using the hack and squirt technique demonstrated by ecological consultant Sam Wright (the “EcoGuy”).

Then tour a private Haw River Preserve and see the August plant communities in summer mode. Meet at 5350 E Greensboro Chapel Hill Rd, Graham, NC 27253. Take the first/easterly (paved) or second/westerly (unpaved and slippery if wet) driveway north west of the Union Bridge over the Haw River. We will be walking on mowed improved trails but uneven ground in spots. You may leave at any time but the entire loop walk (about a mile) will take 2+ hours with a 20 minute initial demonstration by Sam Wright.
