Green Burials at Kings Mountain Preserve

Join NCNPS Southern Piedmont Chapter to welcome and learn from Amanda Peckman, director of the 55-acre Kings Mountain Preserve. This Preserve, in Blacksburg, SC, is one of the few places in the Carolinas dedicated to providing green burials. “Green burial” is a way to provide final resting places for our dead that is more natural and environmentally responsible than the process currently common today. Green burials contribute to the conservation of native plants and natural resources by using non-toxic and biodegradable materials.

Amanda Peckman is director at Kings Mountain Preserve, a conservation green cemetery in Blacksburg, SC. Her work at the Preserve brings together to love for nature and people in a unique way. When she isn’t working she likes to spend time hiking with her family, making fun food for her community, and painting or reading as her “solo” time. She is always up for a conversation and loves to learn, especially over tea and coffee!
