Transforming a suburban yard in Matthews w/ Mac Plihcik

I have been growing native plants for 4 years now and am very gradually transforming my yard. Fortunately, the developer of our neighborhood did not clear cut the lots, so we have a large natural area with mature trees that provided habitat even before I started to do so intentionally. This is a work in progress as I explore what can be done within the confines of an HOA and I would welcome input and discussion. Additionally, the neighborhood across the street from ours has gone completely native at their entryways; it’s very impressive and I encourage everyone to check it out while they’re in the area.
