Brett Hopkins has had a lifelong passion for nature. He grew up on a small family farm in Northeast Ohio in the foothills of the Appalachians, arriving in Asheville, NC 20 years ago, where his love of nature and his curiosity of how ecosystems work really blossomed.
Brett has used iNaturalist extensively since 2017 to expand his knowledge and he is also an iNaturalist ambassador. In this session he will be sharing tips and tricks to improve your identification results, participate more fully in community science, and expand your knowledge and enjoyment of the natural world.
This session will start with a classroom overview to discuss best practices and then we will move out into the garden to practice what we’ve just learned with Brett there to help troubleshoot and further understand the process.
