Haw River Assembly: Protecting The Watershed
Join us at 6:30pm, Wednesday, February 4th at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Library to learn about the Haw River Assembly and issues facing our local watershed from Hannah Welborn-Lewis of HRA.
Her presentation will focus on building a watershed community that supports clean water through outreach, education, and water quality monitoring programs. It will highlight ongoing issues facing the watershed, initiatives the Haw River Assembly is pursuing, and ways attendees can get involved in protecting their local community.

Hannah Welborn-Lewis joined the Haw River Assembly in 2023 and is responsible for coordinating various events including the Haw River Learning Celebration in the Fall, the annual Clean-Up-A-Thon, and the Haw River Festival. Prior to working for the Haw River Assembly, Hannah spent time at the City of Greensboro Water Resources Department as a Public Education and Social Media Specialist. Hannah received her undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University, graduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Communication Studies and is currently pursuing a postbaccalaureate certification in conservation from UNCG.
