Guidelines for attendees
Bring seeds if you can, but you do not need to donate seeds to attend. There should be enough seeds to share.
Native seeds only, as clean as possible
Divide seeds into individual portions before you arrive.
Mark each seed packet with plant’s common name, botanical name and your initials, i.e. American Beautyberry/Callicarpa americana, CP
If you are not able to divide/label seeds prior to the swap, when you arrive, there will be an area where you can do so, and someone to help.
Karen Mulcahy is developing a spreadsheet of available seeds, to be shared with participants before the event. If you are donating seeds, please email Karen at mulcahyk@yahoo.com with as much of the following information as possible.
- Common and Latin names, example: Showy Goldenrod/ Solidago speciosa
- Month and year harvested
- Is the source a cultivated plant, or locally occurring ecotype?
- If cultivated, is it a straight species, selection, cultivar, etc.
- Any details you feel are relevant like special handling (do not allow to dry out, keep refrigerated, etc)
