How Native Plants can help with Stormwater Management – Members Only

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This event is only open to NCNPS members.

Join Mecklenburg Soil and Water District educator, Jennifer Fear, and NPS member, Carla Vitez, to learn more about how to manage rain water in a way that adds beauty, reduces erosion, and restores ground water. Rain gardens are used in various ways on Carla’s one acre property to capture storm water and protect water quality on a small tributary of Briar Creek. Native plants are featured throughout.

Guests can congregate in a covered carport, check out books and view before and after photos. Jennifer will give a short presentation about the District’s Urban Cost Share Program and provide various resources to help property owners conserve soil and protect water quality. The tour will follow.

Register here to receive an email confirmation with the address of the tour.
