21/10/03 Forest Ridge Park

The Chapter returned to see the wildlife planting in fall bloom and also participated in a plant and seed exchange. Small groups toured the Wildlife Garden developed by members Herb and Pat Amyx through the Neuse River Hawks, a Chapter of the NC Wildlife Federation. Forest Ridge Park is located at 2100 Old North Carolina 98 Hwy, Wake Forest, NC 27587

Maryland goldenaster (Chrysopsis mariana)
Rushes, irises and grasses in a wet area of the garden. This area catches and filters stormwater from the adjacent pavement. Logs and stones provide year-round sculptural interest and habitat for small animals
