Weakley currently lists five (5) varieties of T. pusillum as native to NC: Listed with NCNHP as questionable taxonomy - under study per Weakley "the Trillium pusillum complex is currently undergoing study by Susan Farmer (Univ. of Tennessee); preliminary analysis shows that the published varieties are "good" and that the recognition of additional taxa is warranted."
