Habitat Description: |
Pine flatwoods and savannas, pocosin borders, more able to tolerate merely moist soils than other Rhexia species. Occurs throughout the NC Coastal Plain except absent in the northeastern quarter. Common in the southern half of the range mainly in the Longleaf Pine (Pinus palustris) zones north to Craven, Harnett, and Montgomery counties. Infrequent to rare in the northern part of the range. |
