Habitat Description:

Upland depression ponds, sluggish streams, beaverponds, primarily in the fall-line Sandhills. Locally fairly common in the region, and can be reasonably common at Sandhills Game Land lakes and ponds in Richmond and Scotland counties; scarce in Hoke and Cumberland counties. This is a Watch List species.
