Medicinal and Edible Uses for Native Plants with Marie Noel(7 p.m.--Please come early, 6:30 p.m., to say hello before the program )
Event Sponsor: Triad Chapter
Echinacea purpurea, purple coneflower, by Marie Noel
Our native plants are so much more than landscaping. Marie Noel, Triad Chapter NCNPS member, will share the many uses of some familiar natives. Historical medicinal uses and edible options will be discussed as well as methods for creating easy preparations for practical use. Resources will be shared.
Marie is a long time Greensboro resident and retired registered nurse. She became interested in herbalism in 2015 and studied with Heart of Herbs School for three years to gain a Master Herbalist certification. She is a member of the American Herbalist Guild. She joined the NCNPS early in her Herbalist studies to learn more about native plants and ethical foraging.
Join us Wednesday, March 4th, 7 p.m. at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Library, 1420 Price Park Dr, Greensboro, NC 27410 (phone 336-373-2923). All are welcome, though of course we hope you’ll be inspired to join the NCNPS and support efforts to plant more natives and wildlife habitat!
Attendees often arrive a little early to chat and check out door prizes or books. We don’t always have these, but often do. Feel free to bring a native plant to share or save it for fundraisers at the spring and fall outings, or our annual picnic in June. Funds raised support native plant research mini-grants or scholarships to attend the wonderful Cullowhee Native Plant Conference in July.
