5th Annual Holiday Potluck Dinner and Seed/Plant/Book Swap - postponed to January(7 - 9 PM)
Event Sponsor: Blue Ridge Chapter
Our holiday/seed swap meeting has been postponed to January 8, 2020, in accordance with our winter weather policy. Watauga County schools are closed on Dec. 11 for wintry road conditions in some parts of the county.
The Blue Ridge Chapter invites you to our 2019 Holiday Party and Seed Swap rescheduled for Wed., Jan. 8, at the Holiday Inn Express on Blowing Rock Road in Boone! This meeting will have a potluck dinner so please plan on bringing a dish to share. After dinner, we will conduct our annual Native Plant Seed Swap. Please watch the weather - if schools are closed on the day of our meeting due to wintry conditions, it will be postponed.
The meeting is open to the public, everyone is welcome. If you don’t have seeds to share, you can also bring plants, books or anything native plant related to participate in the swap. Please stick with plants and seeds native to our area and label your seed packages with scientific and common name if you can. Bring photos of the plants if you are not sure and we may be able to help with identification.
The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Express, 1943 Blowing Rock Road in Boone, and starts at 7 PM, but the room will be open around 6:30 if you would like to come early and chat with other native plant enthusiasts.
Please note our inclement weather policy for the winter: In the case that the Watauga County school system cancels school for the day of our meeting we will not have our regularly scheduled meeting. If there is just a delay and not a cancellation, we will have our meeting.
