DESCRIPTION:Walking Tour of Charlotte’s Treasure Trees\nCharlotte, NC\nSaturday, October 30, 2021\n2 – 4 pm\nTreasure tree hunter, Brett Dupree, will take you through the Myers Park neighborhood to see some of Charlotte’s Treasure Trees ( https://treescharlotte.org/treasuretrees-list/ ). This five-mile loop walking tour will include WingHaven, where two of Charlotte’s original Treasure Trees are located. We will see a mix of native trees and exotic trees that have been included in home landscapes over the years including:\nCrimean Linden (Tilia x euchlora)\nGingko (Ginkgo biloba)\nWaxleaf Privet (Ligustrum lucidum)\nDeodar Cedar (Cedrus deodara)\nJapanese Zelkova (Zelkova serrata)\nPecan (Carya illinoinensis)\nChaste Tree (Vitex agnus-castus)\nJapanese Stewartia (Stewartia pseudocamellia)\nNote: The WingHaven ( https://winghavengardens.org/ ) part of the tour is $10 (free for Wing Haven members), and any form of payment is accepted onsite.\nThis hike is for NCNPS members only. Walks will be limited in size.
