( https://northcarolinanativeplantsociety.wildapricot.org/event-5444589 )\nFall is here, which means we’re well into the seed-saving season! Growing from seed is an economical choice for getting more natives and it’s a great opportunity to get to know your plants at every stage of life.\nIf you’re new to collecting seeds and you’d like to learn the basics, Carrie DeJaco is hosting a seed collection workshop at her house for members who would like a hands-on learning experience. Members are welcome to bring seeds of their own, though Carrie has generously offered for you to collect seeds from her certified native garden as well! A list of her native plants will be provided after registration so you know what will be available to collect.\nPlease be sure to bring gloves, snips, and breathable containers such as paper/mesh bags or paper envelopes to store your collected seeds. Air-tight containers and ziploc bags can promote fungal or bacterial growth on your seeds if left in the container for too long.\n\n\n
