Laurel River Trail, Hot Springs AreaEvent Sponsor: Western NC Chapter
This is an easy 3.6 mile hike one way along the Big Laurel River. It would be a 7 mile roundtrip but we can turn around at any point depending on the weather and the group. We will meet at 9:00 at the trail head parking area. Please wear sturdy shoes, bring raingear, plenty of water, and snacks
Directions from Asheville
From I-240 in the downtown area, take exit 4A onto Highway I-26W and U.S. 19/23 North toward Weaverville. Go 8.5 miles until you see a sign that says Hot Springs 2nd right (U.S. Highway 25/70). Take the US 25 Bypass/US 70 ramp, merging onto US 25/US 70 heading toward Hot Springs. Trail parking is located at the intersection of SR 208 and US 25/US 70. The trail begins past the gate at the south end of the parking area.
