Harris Lake County Park Field Trip

(Meet at the park at 2 p.m.)
Event Sponsor: Margaret Reid Chapter

Jackie Trickel, Assistant Park Manager of Education and Program at Harris Lake County Park, (and NCNPS Board Member) will lead this trip through the 60 acre restored Longleaf Forest providing information on how it is managed and what projects are planned for the future. In addition we hope to identify plants to add to our natural resource inventory database.

We will also stop by our new Butterfly Highway planting and milk weed plantings for an update on these projects.
Registration is required for this field trip.  Limited to 32 participants - a wagonload.

Meet at the Loblolly Shelter.  When all are accounted for we will load up on the wagon and drive back to our 60 acre restored Longleaf Forest.  We will park the wagon and walk along the access roads to view the longleafs.

Dress for the weather and bring water and binoculars to catch a view of any birds we see. Bring a blanket for the wagon ride or make sure you have a warm coat - the ride can be chilly.
