Programs
The Society strives to promote and conserve NC's native plants and their habitats through its various programs and activities, described below.
- Plant Rescues
- This program grew from the desire to save native plants that would otherwise be lost to construction and development.
- NC Native Plant Habitat Certification
- A program created to recognize, honor, and applaud people who plant and nurture properties of native plantings, creating an ecosystem which enhances and protects our environment.
- Speakers Bureau
- Providing a listing service, native plant related presentations are made available to both the society and the public.
- Funds, Grants, and Scholarships
- The Society sponsors various programs for both the community and college students, supporting research and stewardship activities which promote native plants.
- Awards
- Awards may be made each year to those individuals, organizations, and/or businesses that demonstrate exemplary use of native plants in the landscape, engage in advocacy and education to protect North Carolina’s native plants, or work to further the interests of The Society.
