Mt. Mitchell State Park
This is a 4 mile strenuous loop hike that will take us up to the summit and back down again to the park office. Depending on the weather the hike can be modified. After the hike we can visit the restaurant for refreshments and then head home. We should be finished with the hike by 3:00. Please wear sturdy shoes, bring raingear, plenty of water, and snacks. Hopefully we will see Platanthera psycodes (Small Purple Fringed orchid) in bloom along with many other flowers.
